The FFR exhibition at IOE included contributions, collaborations and performances from this years artists, as well as previous First Food residents. The theme of all work has a focus on food, within a historic and contemporary cultural environment. Work ranges from microscopic studies of the flesh of an apple, to a participatory performance reflecting on childhood and chocolate.

As well as the five Mexican artists in residence in the UK with First Food, Food in the Frame also included work by Adam Stead, Mario Castellanos and Stephen Moynihan as well as FFR founders Anna and Antonia Bruce. Sebastian Hua Walker performed his piece Chokolatl, and Greer Pester hosted an amaranth workshop.
